24 V System Constant voltage
For operation of LED modules
Direct current (constant current) is always required to operate LEDs. To obtain this constant current, there are three components in each operating device (LED driver): a transformer, a rectifier and a constant current regulator. In constant voltage operation, the constant current regulator becomes a component of the LED module and is no longer a part of the operating device.
The advantages of constant voltage are the simple expandability and safety due to the safety extra-low voltage (SELV). LED modules with constant voltage can only be connected in parallel. A central supply and dimming can be realised more easily.
