Wireless Warehouse Application
Industry
Blu2light was specified to be installed into a Logistic Warehouse.
The client expressed interest in exploring various Blu2light options suitable for the warehouse application. Two distinct sensor choices were presented. The first option offered a lower cost solution, with fewer sensors and extended time delays within the aisles.
The second option entailed a configuration with increased sensors in the aisles and shorter time delays, aiming to maximize operational efficiency. A reduced time delay leads to quicker dimming of lights, resulting in reduced energy consumption.
In the present era, heightened awareness about energy conservation and cost-effectiveness has influenced everyone's approach. In alignment with this, the client opted for a fully wireless solution, resulting in a substantial reduction in installation expenses compared to traditional Dali wiring.
This choice also led to a decrease in potential troubleshooting typically associated with a wired solution.
VS Africa with a strong commitment to prioritizing the client's interests, took a proactive stance in engaging comprehensively throughout the project's lifecycle.
To ensure a seamless process, both a representative from VS Africa's Technical Department and an external lighting consultant from RDL Consulting were assigned to spend several days at the manufacturing site of the light fittings.
This strategic choice was regarded as an investment by VS Africa, with the intention of showcasing the seamless potential of a project when supported by the right technical knowledge and expertise.
Following the installation of the light fixtures in their designated zones, the final aspect to complete this project involved programming the lighting arrangements for each aisle and open space.
This programming entailed incorporating motion detection and daylight harvesting functionalities to fully leverage the energy-efficient capabilities offered by the Blu2light control system.
Additionally, a Blu2light gateway have been implemented, serving to ensure the future compatibility and expandability of this installation. Currently, the gateway is dedicated to monitoring motion and lighting data through a SCADA system.
