Information on the impact of the COVID-19 virus outbreak in China on our production

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

as you may know, the Chinese central government has taken strict measures against the coronavirus (COVID-19). For example, workers were not allowed to return to their jobs until 3rd or even 10th February 2020.

The various provincial governments in southern China, north of Hong Kong, have extended this ban in part until the 15th February. Other cities such as Tianjin north of Beijing or Zhengzhou in Zhejiang Province and also Hubei Province with the virus epicentre Wuhan, are still more restricted.

Vossloh-Schwabe is in close contact with all relevant suppliers to constantly monitor the status. Thanks to a well-prepared stock, we can currently still meet the delivery times agreed with you.

Since many workers have not yet returned to the factories after the official closure, the current production capacity on site in China is limited. Smaller suppliers in particular are unable to meet the requirements of local governments, with the result that some supply chains will be affected for the next few weeks. So far, we are facing a slight delay of about one to two weeks. Air freight to and from China is also severely restricted.
